Scraggs is a hoarder...

Somebody get her an application for the show.

Sunday morning I spent 2 hours cleaning out her room! She's been stuffing everything away in her closet like a little squirrel. Books, clothes, toys. Rocks! In fact that's not even the only place. She was stuffing things anywhere she could. Her dresser, her nightstand, underneath the bed.

I knew her closet was becoming a disaster but I was putting it off. We finally got to it and threw away tons of stuff. Hopefully she will keep it neat. I'll be keeping my eye on it.

Now for clothes talk. Yesterday, I wore one of my favorite dresses, well was my favorite until I started shrinking away into a "bag of bones" as my friend Julie likes to call me.

I don't look like this right? I mean this is what a bag of bones looks like. Lol

No but in all seriousness it doesn't fit me the way I like it anymore so I wear a sweater over it. It actually has cap sleeves and I bought it a year ago from a boutique in the Woodlands. You can see the dress here when I first wore it.

The cropped sweater and necklace are from Charlotte Russe, and the shoes are Nine West "Rocha".

Weekend Shopping...

Hope everyone had a good weekend! Did you watch the Superbowl yesterday and eat too much like I did?

OMG. I suffered with a stomach ache for half the night and this morning I'm so tired. I can't wait for this day to be over.

Enough complaining though. I've got some goodies to show you! Saturday Scraggs and I headed to Willowbrook mall and I found some awesome shoes for 70% off!

Feast your eyes on these beauties. I love them. They are BCBG and were originally $110. I got them for $33 at Dillards.

I also jumped on the bandwagon and finally bought NARS blush in orgasm. I'll give my review on it later on.

Scraggs also made out with some really cute loot.

The last stop I made was at Target to pick up some household items and I also had to get Carrie Underwood's "Play On" CD. You should check out her songs "Cowboy Casanova" and "Temporary home" if you haven't heard them already. Love them.

So thats it. What did you do this weekend?

Mascara review and my routine...

While I may not be great at putting on eyeshadows. I do know my mascaras and how to make liner stand out.

My must have mascara is the number one favorite Diorshow. My second runner up is Loreal's panoramic curl but I am excited to tell you about the new Loreal mascara that I recently discovered. It's called L'Oreal extra collagen and I am loving it! For only $6.54 you get amazing lashes. It's a tiny bit clumpier than Diorshow after multiple coats but honestly, I think it works just as great.

Here is what it looks like.

Here are the mascara wands of the three brands so you can compare.
From left to right. (Loreal Collagen, Loreal panoramic curl, Diorshow)

The collagen wand has alot of bristles like Diorshow but it's a little shorter and the bristles are more spaced out. The panoramic wand is the skinniest of the three but creates great length and will curl your lashes.

Now onto my routine. This is pretty much how I do my eyes every day. Sometimes I'll experiment with shadows, or maybe line my bottom lid, but for the most part, this is all I do and have been doing it for years.

I first put on my foundation and then do my eyebrows. After that I line my eyes with a black liner extending out and up by a little. Any liner will do for me as long as it glides on easily. In fact this eyeliner was only $0.99 at Walgreens. When I had lighter hair, I would switch between black and a dark brown.

I then take an eyeshadow applicator, gently rub some black shadow on it, (dab on toilet paper because it has to be light) and apply thinly right above my eyeliner extending out a little bit further than the liner. Sometimes I will switch out the black for one with color. After I'm satisfied with the line I apply mascara, and I apply several coats. A little tip I picked up was to apply a coat and give it about 10 seconds to start drying in between coats.

I thought I had a picture of the shadow on top of the liner but I seem to have deleted it. I will instead show you the finished eye with L'Oreal collagen mascara.

I find that putting a shadow on top of your liner makes your lashes appear thicker and really stand out.

I've always said that if I was to be stranded on a desert island and could only bring two products, it would be eyeliner and mascara. What two products can you not live without?

The eyes have it..

When I put my makeup on it the morning. my eyes are what I spend the most time on. I really don't focus too much on the rest of my makeup. I rarely trust a makeup artist to do my eye makeup. The thing is-I think too much eye makeup looks odd on me. Like it's too much because of the heavy lids and the shape, so in the end I always tend to stick to just black eyeliner and mascara.

So my question to you guys is, do you know of any good youtube makeup tutorials where the person applying has alot of lid? I'd like to see how they do it.

There are some great looks out there that I'd like to try-especially the smokey eye, but it ends up looking like too much on my lids.

Here are some eye makeup looks I love but feel I can't achieve. Maybe I just stink at eye shadows and will never have a knack for it. Believe me I practice.

I'd love to hear your tips.

Product Reviews..

Hey there. Hope everyone had a good weekend! Mine was ok. I haven't blogged in the past few days because of work. I've been really busy and things don't slow down once I get home either.

So in the past few weeks I've tried a few things and bought a few things and everyone loves a product review so here are mine on a few items. This is long.

1) Too faced pink leopard bronzing powder. $28

When I went to the mall 2 weekend’s ago, one of the stops I made was at Sephora. I was on the lookout for a good bronzer and I heard good things about NARS Laguna. I swirled some of it on my hand and it seemed more pink than anything. I went over to the two faced products and was intrigued by the blusher bronzer they had. I had one of the employees apply it and I liked it. It does go on more blush like than a bronzer though.

2) Neutrogena MicroMist tanning sunless spray. $12.99

I have fair skin that gets fairer in the winter and with my dark hair right now, I feel really washed out. I checked the product reviews of many sunless tanners and finaly settled on this Neutrogena one. I didn't buy it because of the reviews but more so because of the micro mist and it's fairly new. It took me forever to finally put it on because I was scared I was going to come out orange or streaky. I even watched some youtube tutorials on self tanners just to make sure I did it right. Well in the end, I got a little bit of color, but just a little bit. The good thing about this product is that you can't really mess up. There were no streaks what so ever. The first time I applied I rubbed it in, the second time I applied (yesterday), I just sprayed it on and it still went on evenly. It smells a little but it's not overpowering. I rate this product a C. It really doesn't do much at all. I should of taken pictures but you probably wouldn't of been able to tell a difference anyways since it's so slight.

3) OLAY AGE DEFYING ANTI-WRINKLE EYE CREAM $12.39

I think Olay makes excellant eye creams. I've tried some of the higher end stuff and have usually gone back to Olay. I don't have eye wrinkles and the young looking genes run in my family but prevention is key. I just started using this particular one and I've been pleased. Right when I put it on in the morning, the under eye bags look better instantly. A good product for a good price.

4) Dyson dc17 absolute vaccum $449.99

Since we moved in last August, we've been using an old vacuum, my mother let us have and it stinks everytime we use it. One night 3 weeks ago we went to Target and Mr. J saw that the Dyson's were on sale for 50% off. Apparently we had to have it. I was initially against it because it was such a hefty price tag for a vacuum even at 50% off but he wanted to get it. Well I'm glad he did! It made the carpet look and smell better, and the suction power is amazing. We tested it out by using the old panasonic vacuum in a room first and then going over it with the Dyson. The Dyson picked up tons of dirt and dust even after the panasonic! I can also do the stairs with it and under the beds because it comes with attachments. The cleaning ability of the DC17 vacuum cleaner goes beyond your floors. The air expelled from a Dyson vacuum has up to 150 times less bacteria and mold than the air you breathe. Allergy suffers are sure to benefit from this technology. In fact, Dyson vacuum cleaners are approved by the British Allergy Foundation. Good news for me, because I've been having allergy problems for the past few months. I think it has something to do with the house. I've never had allergies before. So overall I love the product and if it's going to help my allergies than it's worth it.

Did you guys find any great products over the weekend?

What a morning...

Last night I had an amazing dream. It was beautiful to me.

I dreamt that I had a baby girl. In my dream she was about 3 months old already and she had really light brown hair. She looked just like I did as a baby. She was awfully sweet and there wasn't much to the dream other than Hafez and I arriving at a restaurant so his family could meet the baby for the first time. The significance of the dream is that this is the first time I've dreamt of another daughter. I've only dreamt of this future child twice in the past 5 years and both times it was a boy with hair like Mr. J, pale skin, and hazel green eyes. The other thing is that when I dream of this other child, Scraggs is never acknowledged as if she never was, but this time she was mentioned in the dream and she was the age she is now.

Interesting.

So I wake up this morning, get ready, I'm still in my blissful post dream state and then it's time to leave.

Oh no. I can't find my keys.

I search my purse and closet 3 times.

Nothing.

I'm already running late so I call Mr. J and he's not a happy camper about this. He's in a middle of an am audit and I apparently couldn't of called at a worse time. I search some more, find nothing, call him back, and get chewed out. I hang up, think long and hard about what I was wearing last and walla! I find them hiding in a jacket.

Goodness. I was over an hour late to work because of those keys.
